Lahti and the Salpausselkä ridges have a total of around 180 kilometres of cross-country ski trails and several marked hiking trails.

The traditional Lahti Ski Games will be held again in March 2025. The more than a hundred-year-old institution brings together the best Cross-Country, Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined athletes to compete for World Cup points.

According to a recent survey, Lahti residents are most satisfied with the quality of drinking water, fitness trails, and outdoor routes. More than half of the respondents would recommend Lahti as a place to live.
