CitiCAP project 2018-2021
CitiCAP project (Citizens’ cap-and-trade co-created) received funding from the EU Urban Mobility theme. The project concentrates on enabling and promoting sustainable urban mobility in Lahti.

Lahti Host City -Forerunner in Big Events
The project will result to a brighter image of the Lahti region as a competent and attractive Host City of major national and international events. It promotes the growth and internationalization of the regional SMEs around the major events by opening up new year-round opportunities. A masterplan for development of the existing event infrastructure will be completed. Furthermore a systematic operating model for extensive utilisation of volunteer resources will be built.

The European Commission has chosen Lahti as the European Green Capital 2021 (European Green Capital Award, EGCA) as the first city in Finland. The award is proof of Lahti’s persistent environmental work as Finland’s leading environmental city.

By developing services and encouraging employers to utilise the skills and knowledge of international professionals for business growth, the attraction of the Lahti region as a great place to work will strengthen.
SOFTacademy
In this project, renovation measures based on the principles of circular economy and carbon neutrality are accelerated in the Mustamäe pilot district in Tallinn. As a transfer partner, Lahti participates in the development of the innovation model and share best practices with project partners, especially regarding resident involvement, renovations promoting a circular economy, and greening residential areas.
