International Work Lahti Project

Recruitment Services for Non-Finnish Speakers

The International Work Lahti (IWL) project is an ESF-funded initiative led by the City of Lahti. It is part of the city’s vitality and employment services, aimed at piloting an innovative recruitment service for employers and non-Finnish-speaking job seekers. Our goal is to facilitate the connection between job seekers and employers while enhancing companies’ ability to tap into the skills and potential of non-Finnish speakers.

The IWL project’s services are integrated into the International House Lahti service brand, which is coordinated by the City of Lahti. The project is also preparing for the transfer of employment services to municipalities in 2025 and the upcoming KOTO24 reform.

Our primary target group includes unemployed non-Finnish-speaking job seekers and recent graduates in the Lahti region. Additionally, we collaborate directly with local companies to address their recruitment needs through tailored service models.

  • We offer comprehensive support to job seekers to advance their job search.
  • For employers, we provide skilled and professional talents to boost corporate vitality and foster international growth.

Main Project Objective

The primary goal is to enable the swift integration of non-Finnish-speaking unemployed job seekers into the open labor market in the Lahti region. Additionally, the project seeks to enhance the capacity of companies, stakeholders, and the City of Lahti personnel to identify and utilize the skills of non-Finnish speakers.
