Public transport

The Lahti Travel Centre is a junction point that combines long-distance, regional and local bus transport with rail transport. The Lahti Region Travel Centre page provides information about the services in the region. 

Local buses

Local and regional bus transport is carried out by Lahden seudun liikenne LSL (Lahti Region Transport).  The blue LSL buses drive by the Kauppatori market square and the Travel Centre. For routes and schedules (in Finnish), visit www.lsl.fi.

Commuter trains

Commuter train Z from Helsinki arrives in Lahti once an hour. The journey from Helsinki takes one hour.

There are regional trains (marked with an H) from Lahti in the directions of Riihimäki and Helsinki as well as Kouvola and Kotka. They stop at most of the intermediate stations. More information on the VR website at www.vr.fi.

Long-distance trains

All long-distance passenger trains, including trains to St. Petersburg and Moscow, stop in Lahti. At its fastest, the journey to Helsinki takes 50 minutes, while St. Petersburg can be reached with the Allegro train in less than three hours. More information on the VR website.

To the airport

There is a bus connection to the Helsinki-Vantaa airport about once an hour. The journey takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes. More information on the Matkahuolto website.
