City of events
Lahti offers an excellent setting for outdoor and indoor events, from cosy neighbourhood events to world sports championships.
Lahti warmly welcomes not only sports and culture events but also meetings, conferences, fairs and entertainment, for which we can offer our diverse facilities and expertise.
Sports events
The rugged ridge terrain of Lahti offers challenges to both world-class sports stars and fitness enthusiasts in all seasons.
In addition to the beautiful nature, sports events can enjoy the benefits of the diverse, renewed infrastructure that meets the needs of international competitions and a wide range of sports, both indoors and outdoors.
The first winter sports competitions were held in Lahti as early as in 1923. Thanks to the long experience, Lahti has broad expertise that makes it easy to organise events. In 2023, Lahti Ski Games had an important anniversary. The competition’s long and amazing history shows that Lahti is the right place to organise events that will become the icons of their time!
Cultural events
Thanks to its background as an industrial city, Lahti has a certain roughness to it. This same attitude can be seen in the local cultural scene that ranges from internationally acclaimed expertise in classical music to local neighbourhood events.
In Lahti, people are not afraid to follow their own path when it comes to art. Examples of that include the Harley Davidson motorcycle pipe organ concert at the Lahti Organ Festival and the status of Finland’s first Fringe City when Lahti Fringe Festival was included in the city’s cultural offering. The gems of the city’s cultural sector, the acclaimed Lahti Symphony Orchestra and Lahti City Theatre, attract people from across regional borders. The local museum scene is experiencing a new renaissance with the introduction of the new art, poster and design museum Malva. Artists help bring the city to life, and they are welcome to contribute to event productions.
