A new meeting place for families

Open daycare Poppoo is the city's new open and free early childhood education service. Poppoo serves as a meeting place for families, providing an opportunity for them to get to know each other and receive educational support from peer groups. The primary responsibility for the child rests with the accompanying adult.

A child’s guardian or another adult participates in the open daycare activities with the child. Children and adults engage in activities together, such as playing, moving, singing, doing crafts, and going on outings.

Open daycare Poppoo is open on weekdays, Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 3 PM. Participation is free of charge and is intended for all residents of Lahti, including children under school age who are not in municipal or subsidized early childhood education, and their families.

No advance registration is required to participate in the open daycare activities. You can bring your own snacks to the open daycare.

Poppoo operates at two locations: Loviisanpässi (Loviisankatu 16) and the Launeen perhepuisto (Kaarikatu 26).
