A new weather-protected bike shelter at Lahti Travel Center in April

The new shelter will be larger and provide better protection for bikes. Construction on the south side of the tracks might temporarily affect walking and biking.

The bike shelter will have about 90 bike spaces, be lit, and have a green roof and wooden slats on the outside. It will also offer better weather protection in winter.

In cooperation with the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency, this project will increase parking in the area, as the current capacity is not enough during summer. The goal is to finish the new shelter by April.

The construction area is fenced off, affecting walking and biking on the south side of the tracks. For example, the nearby path may be temporarily closed during lifting work.

During construction, cyclists can use the bike parking area in the tunnel on the other side of Uudenmaankatu, which also offers paid and secure bike storage.
