Competition preparations cause traffic changes in the Lahti Sports Center and Ski Trails in March

The Lahti Ski Games and the FIS Continental Cup are causing traffic changes in the Lahti Sports Center area and on the ski trails. Competition construction is already underway, and impacts will last until Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

The Lahti Ski Games will be held this year from March 20–23, 2025, and the preceding week will feature the FIS Continental Cup from March 14–16, 2025. During the Lahti Ski Games, Lahti Sports Center will host three days of top-level competitions in cross-country skiing, Nordic combined, and ski jumping. The FIS Continental Cup will feature competitions in ski jumping and Nordic combined.

Competition arrangements have been planned to minimize disruptions to everyday Lahti life. The arrangements will affect the use of some facilities and streets, as well as traffic and parking near the Lahti Sports Center.

Competition traffic in the Lahti Sports Center area will be heaviest on Saturday, March 22, 2025, during the Lahti Ski Games.

Competition preparations underway

Competition construction is already underway in the Lahti Sports Center and on nearby trails, with construction workers and machinery operating in the trail areas.

During construction and dismantling work, those moving in the area must exercise special caution and follow the competition organizers’ signs and instructions.

Snowmobiles, ATVs, and trail grooming machines will operate on the trails during competition preparations. Net fences and information signs will be placed on the trails to guide those moving in the area to act correctly. Following the signs is essential to avoid potential hazards and injuries.

Fitness enthusiasts can ski on the Tapanila fitness trails throughout the competition through the first snow trail from the Mäkirinteenkatu, Sykekatu, and old racetrack parking lots.
