Free park lunches for children in June

You are welcome to have lunch in the park and enjoy fun summer activities 3.–20.6. on weekdays from 10 to 13. The lunch is available for children from 11 to 12:30 and it is free. Bring your own utensils. The City of Lahti and its partners organize the meals and activities.

The park lunches are provided for three weeks at the following locations:

  • Mondays: Kärpänen School, Kasakkamäentie 1
  • Tuesdays: Ahtiala Parish Center, Alasenkatu 4
  • Wednesdays: Laune Family Park, Kaarikatu 26
  • Thursdays: Rakokivi Cultural Park, Toritie 6
  • Fridays: Mukkula Church, Kilpiäistentie 1 (Note: no lunch on Midsummer Eve)

Lunch is available for the first 100 diners, and at Laune Family Park for the first 200 diners.

Lunch menu

  • June 3rd–7th: sausage soup
  • June 10th–14th: vegetable puree soup
  • June 17th–20th: minced meat soup

Remember to bring your own utensils, picnic blanket and food for the adults!

Summer activities

During park meals, families can join summer activities, and receive up-to-date information about family services in Lahti. Each park lunch week has its own theme and corresponding activities:

  • June 3rd–7th: Nature and Environment
  • June 10th–14th: Sports and Music
  • June 17th–20th: Culture and Art

 

Park lunch and activities are a collaboration of the City of Lahti, kumppanuuspöydät, open early childhood education, Lahden lapsiperheiden kohtaamispaikkaverkosto, the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare, Lahden ensi- ja turvakoti ry, the Wellbeing Services County of Päijät-Häme, Lahden seurakunnat ja Lahden Diakonialaitos. Various organizations and volunteers are also involved.
