The ice trail on Lake Vesijärvi is open to everyone. The trail is hoped to provide skating peace and space for everyone, regardless of their ability level. Because there is so much snow on the ice, there will not be a separate walking and cycling trail.
The ice track will be ploughed and maintained according to weather conditions and daily if necessary. A maintenance sign at the start and end of the skating trail will indicate maintenance and repair work. During the maintenance period, special care must be taken when using the trails.
Skaters should be aware that the surface of natural ice is always more uneven than that of a rink frozen with bulk water.
Restaurant Nosturi in Teivaa Harbour offers free borrowing of kick-skates and hiking skates during opening hours.
The ice and guided shore routes and weather conditions for Lake Vesijärvi will be available on the LahtiSkate service from Saturday, 22.2.2025. The service allows you to check the current status of all Lahti’s skating rinks. The map-based system shows the ice rinks maintained by the city’s sports services.
