The City of Lahti has formally entered into a partnership agreement with Lahden Seta, establishing itself as the main partner of Lahti Pride until the year 2027. The upcoming Lahti Pride will celebrate its tenth anniversary from May 12th to 18th, with the theme All Colors of Culture. The event week will feature a comprehensive program that includes lectures, workshops, cultural events, and community activities aimed at engaging residents of Lahti.

– As the main partner, we wish to convey that Lahti is a city inclusive of all individuals. It is essential for everyone to feel comfortable expressing their identities, while simultaneously respecting and valuing the diversity of our community, states Mayor Niko Kyynäräinen.

The City of Lahti is committed to advancing equality and combating discrimination by developing operational strategies within its organizational framework.

– While Pride is prominently represented through parades and rainbow flags, the principles of equality and non-discrimination should be reflected in our daily work and actions. It is our obligation to ensure that Lahti is a city built for and accessible to as many people as possible, Kyynäräinen emphasizes.

Alma Tuominen, the event producer for Lahti Pride, expressed positivity regarding the partnership.

– This collaboration illustrates that the concept of equality is taken seriously in Lahti. Together we are making progress toward a more equitable environment, she observes.

Lahti Pride serves as a celebration of equality for all residents, occurring for the tenth time in 2025. The anniversary year’s theme, All Colors of Culture, will be honored under the patronage of Lauri Maijala, the director of the Lahti City Theatre.

Throughout the week, various events will be organized for residents, including lectures, workshops, cultural exhibitions, and social gatherings. The week will culminate in the traditional Pride parade and main day festivities.

Lahti Pride is coordinated by volunteers partnering with local businesses and organizations.
