– Difficult life situations can paralyze and consume mental capacity. The meaningful activities provided by the Nature Revives -project have brought spark and joy to everyday life, which may also reflect in job searches, says Project Coordinator Jani Sore.
Due to privacy reasons, the job search information of project participants is not public. However, the experiences and results of participants indicate a positive impact on their lives and well-being. Some have reported increased activity in job searching.
The project organized three different courses and one well-being event for non-native-speaking job seekers. Based on feedback surveys, they would recommend the course to a friend with an average rating of 9.5 out of 10.
“In nature, the atmosphere is more equal than in a typical meeting situation”
– Nature provides a more egalitarian atmosphere than a regular meeting situation, says Sore.
– The most important aspects have been encounters, presence, and interaction. Many have joined when there has been meaningful shared activity, even if they might otherwise be hesitant to socialize.
Projects that combine nature and well-being have been implemented frequently in recent years, but less often from the perspective of employment management and led by employment services.
The Nature Revives -project is funded by the Päijät-Häme Regional Council’s AKKE program and implemented by the City of Lahti Employment Services.
