The Green Growth Forum brings together investors, researchers and other leaders in the sector to discuss new sustainable investment and financing trends. The event will highlight successful investments and how sustainable financing meets the circular economy, nature and biodiversity. The conference will also discuss measuring the impact of public and private investments.
“Financial reporting and climate issues will intersect at the conference for the first time. Sustainable financing is one new tool for financial markets to encourage companies to act responsibly,” says Erkki Liikanen, host of the conference.
Speakers at the Green Growth Forum include Philipp Hildebrand,Vice Chairman of BlackRock, Sirpa Pietikäinen,member of the European Parliament, and Tuomas Välimäki, Member of the Board of the Bank of Finland. The conference will be hosted by Erkki Liikanen, Chair of Trustees of IFRS Foundation and the Sustainable Lahti Foundation. The final programme of the event will be completed during the spring.
“Sustainable financing as a phenomenon is on the rise worldwide. Sustainable and responsible financing plays a strong role in combating climate change, which is why we, as the European Green Capital, wanted to raise it under a magnifying glass for two days,” says Environmental Producer Jussi Knuuttila from the Green Capital project.
The event will be carried out in cooperation with OP Päijät-Häme and Municipality Finance. Ticketsfor the event will become available in May-June 2021.
