Take a look at the new allocation principles for private plots

The new allocation principles for private plots in the City of Lahti came into effect in February. The new principles aim to achieve faster, more transparent, and more efficient allocation and construction of plots for both the applicants and the city.

In the future, new plots will be made available for application 1–2 times a year, depending on demand and necessity. Plots will typically only be listed for application once the streets in the area have been constructed to at least a gravel surface. New plots will primarily be allocated to applicants through a lottery.

Applications for plots that are continuously available will be processed immediately, and the plot allocation decision will be made once the applicant has paid the reservation fee.

Currently, there are approximately 100 ready plots available for continuous application. You can apply for them immediately, and your application will be processed right away. Construction on these plots can also commence quickly.

Reservation period offers security

A plot will be reserved for you for six months with a reservation fee of €550 before it is allocated. During the reservation period, you can secure financing and confirm the suitability of the plot for your requirements.

Private plots are rented for construction purposes, but once the building project is completed, you can also purchase the plot outright. Depending on the area, plot prices range from €11 to €50 per square meter, with this pricing valid until July 31, 2025.

A subdivision fee will be added to the plot prices when sold. Plots in central, waterfront, and special areas are priced separately. The annual rent for plots is five percent of the sales price.
