You are invited to a public community meeting about the future of Lahti´s city centre

Join us for the urban planning department’s annual City Center community meeting on Tuesday, April 29th, in the courtyard of the City Hall.

The event starts at 4:30 PM with informal discussions and traditional May Day refreshments sima (non-alcoholic Finnish mead) and doughnuts.

The program begins at 5:00 PM and can also be followed remotely via Teams. After the presentations, you will have the opportunity to participate in planning, share your ideas, and provide feedback to city planning professionals. The event concludes at 7:00 PM.

Topics to be discussed

  • Continuation and next steps of the City Centre Vision, summer plans for the city centre and the development of the main market area.
  • Updates on the current zoning projects for Kisapuisto and Paavola.
  • Presentations on city centre projects, including the renovation of Radiomäki sports field and the greening project of Lanunaukio square.
  • Efforts to promote sustainable mobility by improving conditions for walking and cycling, and plans to regulate the parking of shared scooters.
  • The event is organized in collaboration with the Lahti City Partnership Table, which will share the latest news on the participatory budgeting campaign.
