Services for people in the integration period
-
The integration plan is made together with the specialist. The plan will agree what you need to do to integrate into Lahti and Finland.
The integration plan can, for example, agree on a service to support integration. Services that support integration can include, for example:
- social orientation
- integration training
- literacy training
- Finnish language and culture training
- completion of basic education and vocational training
- various types of training and job-search coaching.
The integration period starts when the first integration plan is drawn up. If you are a jobseeker, the integration plan will be drawn up for you by us in the employment services. If necessary, an integration plan can also be drawn up with a social worker.

A specialist will help you integrate into Lahti and Finland. With your specialist, you will discuss what would be the best option for you to work or study. The specialist can, for example, refer you to integration training or some other service that supports you in learning Finnish.
The specialist will give you advice and information about education and working life in Finland. In Employment Services, the aim is employment and you will be supported towards employment, for example through work experience, wage subsidies or training.
Services after the integration period
-
When your integration period is over, you will be assigned a new specialist. After your integration period, you will be given an employment plan together with your specialist. The employment plan will agree what you need to do to find a job or training that suits you. For example, the specialist may refer you to a service that will support your job search.
-
After the integration period, the aim is for you to be able to deal with us mainly in Finnish. Many services require Finnish language skills, and many employers expect you to already have some Finnish language skills. Active Finnish language practice is very important, and language skills are a major advantage when looking for a job. Your personal coach can tell you what services are available from the employment services. You can also read about the different services on our website.
